THEME 1: Host-pathogen interactions mediated by bacterial kinases and phosphatases
Theme leader : Dr. Virginie MOLLE
Our research themes articulate around three complementary objectives:
OBJECTIVE 1: Biochemical and functional characterization of the endogeneous substrates of Ser/Thr Proteine Kinases and tyrosine phosphatases from pathogenic bacteria, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), Staphylococcus aureus, and Coxiella burnetii, at the present time.
OBJECTIVE 2: Determination of the role of phosphorylation/dephosphorylation on the different STPKs/Ptp substrates related to adaptation to their environment (pathogenicity, cellular division, developpement, host survival, persistence etc.)
OBJECTIVE 3: Identification of exogenous substrates of STPKs/Ptp phosphorylated/dephosphorylated during infection of host cells by pathogenic bacteria and analysis of physiological consequences for host cells.
